    Internals

TFmac is written in Java (version 0.9 requires Java 5). It is distributed as a Mac application bundle. This provides full integration into the Mac OS X user interface: de/installation by drag and drop of the program file, brushed metal look, Mac-like window and menu handling - and a nice icon ;-)

To connect to the Topfield PVR, TFmac uses the binary of a command-line application, called tf. It was originally written by Petr Novak (PeN) an ported to the Mac by Thomas Träxler. tf is under the GPL and its source code can be obtained from Thomas.

Thomas also suggested the use of mplayer as a preview tool. So TFmac uses that, too. The latest version as well as the source code can be obtained here.

      Do you have a TF5000?

Then have a look at spock's TFmac 5000 or Nathan Oates' MacTF (sorry about the names ;-).
